Disturbing Case of Voyeurism

Friday evening, a female patron of a local restaurant noticed a male with a cell phone camera attempting to record her while using the washroom.

On Friday evening just after 9pm, a caller reported a case of voyeurism at a local fast food restaurant on Saanich Road. Saanich Police patrol officers were dispatched to the scene.

The female, a 45 year old Langford resident, saw a cell phone camera being pointed over the top of a stall while she was using the washroom. She fled the washroom and immediately alerted her husband who was also in the restaurant.

The victim and her husband approached the male as he left the washroom and the restaurant. He was confronted in the parking lot as a patrol officer arrived.

A 26 year old Saanich resident was arrested for voyeurism contrary to section 162 of the criminal code. He was later released on a Promise to Appear to attend court in the near future.

Items seized during the arrest included a cell phone and an IPOD.
