Shell Robbery Suspect Arrested

The Parkdale Shell robbery suspect had been charged with three counts of robbery.

Saanich Police Detectives continue to investigate the three robberies of the Parkdale Shell Station at the corner of Douglas street and Saanich road. The station was robbed once July 4th, and twice on July 7th.

After the second robbery on July 7th, around 2pm, three people were taken into custody. Two were released without charges and one has now been charged, with further charges being considered.

Arrested was Curtis Dale Barszczewski, 34 years, a resident of Langford. Barszczewski is known to local area police.

Charges being considered at this time include:

• Three counts of Robbery

• A single count of Disguise with Intent

• A single charge of Fraud (unrelated to the robbery)

The suspect is to appear in Victoria Provincial Court on Thursday, July 14th, at 9:30 am.
