Drug store robber

The Shoppers Drug Store on Burnside Road West was robbed late Tuesday afternoon January 24th by a masked man who ran away on foot.

At 5:45 p.m. a lone man entered the store wearing a toque and a bandana covering his head and face. He did not produce a weapon during the robbery.

The man demanded and received an undisclosed quantity of narcotics from one of the store employees. The employee was not injured.

The suspect was last seen on foot running west towards the area of Tillicum Mall.

A K9 team tracked into the surrounding neighbourhood but the trail ended suddenly. It is speculated that there may have been some form of transportation located nearby.

The suspect is described as follows:

– a white male in his early 20’s to early 30’s

– approximately 6′ in height and quite heavy-set

– wearing a blue toque on his head and a blue and white bandana on his face

– navy blue pea style coat and blue jeans with black ski boots
