Two taggers were arrested in the Tolmie laneway last evening.
At about 8pm, last evening, a witness who contacted Saanich Police had seen two males tagging in the area of Oak street and Cloverdale ave. The witness followed the two males and was able to see them enter the Tolmie lane and continue to tag.
Saanich Police patrol officers arrived at the lane and entered from both ends. When the officers confronted and surprised the two suspects who were upon on a business roof tagging, they both attempted to flee. Both youths were caught by officers after a brief foot chase.
Two male youths, 16 years and 14 years, both Saanich residents were arrested. Both were turned over to the custody of parents once released with a date to appear in court.
Three businesses in the area were painted with tags. A total of seven counts of mischief are being suggested.
