Robbery at Saanich 7-11 on Carey Road

Saanich Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at 4 o’clock this morning (Tuesday, June 25th).

The 7-11 store at Carey Road and Tillicum was robbed by an unidentified lone man who was wearing a mask. He was armed with a screwdriver. The suspect demanded and received a small, undisclosed sum of cash from the store clerk.

The man fled on foot, downhill on Tillicum Road towards the Trans Canada Hwy. The clerk who was working at the store was not injured.

The description of the unidentified man is as follows:

– Caucasian man, age not determined

– Approx 5’10” in height, 165 lbs

– Tan-coloured baseball cap, sunglasses and a mask

– The mask may have been a sleep mask, but this is not confirmed

– Tan-coloured long sleeve shirt with a reflective strip on the back

– Green-coloured pants, black Adidas runners with white stripes

– He may have been wearing white latex gloves, but this is not confirmed

– He was holding the screwdriver in his left hand, so he might be left-handed

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify this man. If anyone recognizes this description or has any other information, please phone Crime Stoppers or Saanich Police.
