The Saanich Police Collision Reconstruction Team and members of the Saanich Police Traffic Safety Unit are investigating a serious injury accident in the 3300 block of Quadra Street.
At around 3:40 pm, a 13 year old male attempted to cross Quadra Street in the area of Holmes Road, just to the north of the intersection Inverness and Quadra Street.
The 13 year old suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital for further assessment. His condition at the time of the release was simply that he had serious and possibly life-threatening injuries.
Quadra Street will remain closed in both the southbound and northbound directions between Cloverdale Avenue and Tolmie Avenue for the next two to three hours.
Investigators are gathering information from several witnesses to the incident. The driver of the vehicle that struck the youth was shaken as a result of the incident and is cooperating with police.
