*** The following release is posted on behalf of S/Sgt. Steve Morgan***

On April 10, 2014 the Regional Crime Unit arrested 49 year old Fabian Daley in connection with a residential break and enter that occurred in the 900 block of Scotia Street in Saanich on April 4, 2014. The disturbing part of the break and enter was that it occurred between 03:00 and 05:30 when the home owners were home sleeping at the time. RCU had begun an investigation several weeks earlier when a series of overnight break-ins were reported in the Quadra Street area. One of the items taken in the break and enter on Scotia was a credit card and Daley was identified attempting to withdraw cash from an ATM using the card shortly after the theft.

A search warrant was executed on April 11, 2014 at Daley’s residence in the 3700 block of Quadra Street were a second 50 year old male was taken into custody. Stolen property was located linking Daley and the other male suspect to overnight break and enters in Saanich and Victoria as well as theft from autos throughout the region.

The investigation is ongoing into the property located. Daley is currently charged with one count of break and enter, one count of attempted use of a stolen credit card and one count of possession of stolen property. The second male suspect is currently awaiting charges on one count of possession of stolen property. Both suspects remain in custody and investigators are anticipating further charges as property owners are located.
