Major drug operation busted across the street from park

Approximately two months ago Saanich Police Property Crime and Drug Investigators began a joint investigation into a residence in the 800 Block of Marigold Rd.  On March 3, 2016 Saanich Police and Officers from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at this residence.

Saanich Police arrested a 41 year old male resident and a 38 year old woman at the home.  A significant amount of drugs have been recovered from the home including, but not limited to, crack cocaine, heroin and crystal methamphetamine.  Also seized during the search was, body armour, stolen property and a large cache of weapons, including swords, knives, bear spray, conducted energy weapons, many replica firearms and a rifle.

While the investigation is ongoing the 41 year old man will be appearing in court today.  Police are recommending over 30 various charges at this time.

“This was a significant investigation that resulted in the arrest of a man that is well known to us” A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie said.  “This lifelong criminal was conducting a drug operation across the street from a park that is well used by many children and community groups.  We feel that our community is now safer with this prolific offender off the streets”.
