Two Arrested in Drug House Bust

In early September 2016 the Saanich Police Drug Section launched an investigation into a suspected drug house in the 3000 block of Bodega Rd. On September 15, 2016 Saanich Police, with the assistance of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, arrested 2 suspects for drug trafficking. The suspects were arrested without incident.

After the suspects had been arrested Saanich Police executed a search warrant at the Bodega Rd residence.  Police located Cocaine, Hashish, Crack Cocaine, Marijuana, Crystal Meth and a number of weapons inside the home.

“Bodega Rd is located in a fairly quiet residential area of Saanich and is in close proximity to two parks, a church and a community recreation centre.” A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie said.  “Our drug investigation section continues to target criminals setting up shop in Saanich. Our top priority is to ensure Saanich remains a safe place to live.”

One of the suspects, 43 year old Eric Hartley of Saanich, was held in custody.  Police have recommended charges of 4 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 3 counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  The other suspect, a 34 year old Saanich man who is known to Police, was released at the time and will appear in court in October.
