On Wednesday October 26, 2016 just before 11:00PM Saanich Police were in the 1800 Block of Elmhurst Dr. A Saanich Officer noted what appeared to be a handgun through an open window.
Saanich Police were able to make contact with the resident of the home. After several hours, and with the assistance of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, a man was taken into custody without incident.
Saanich Police obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of the home. Police discovered three replica firearms which have now been seized.
A 26 year old Saanich man, who is known to Police, has been arrested. The man was breaching various imposed conditions that he is bound by. Saanich Police will be recommending five charges of breaching a recognizance and he will be appearing before the courts later today.
