On Wednesday January 25, 2017 just before 6:30PM Saanich Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision in the 3900 block of Cedar Hill X Rd.
A 1999 Black Chevrolet Tracker was travelling east on Cedar Hill X Rd when the driver possibly suffered a medical event. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, went onto the sidewalk, struck a pedestrian and finally came to rest in a yard, after crashing through a fence, at the corner of Cedar Hill X Rd/Marjean Pl.
A 20 year old man who was struck by the vehicle was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene until Police arrived and was later taken to the hospital as well.
The Saanich Police Crash Analyst Team attended and traffic in the area was closed for several hours as Investigators gathered evidence.
