UPDATE: Man wanted for Robbery with a Firearm

UPDATE:

On October 26, 2017, just after 2:30PM, the Comox Valley RCMP, located Michael Godolphin in Courtenay BC.  Michael Godolphin was arrested without incident and will appear in court on October 27, 2017 facing a number of criminal code offence allegations.  These charges stem from the robberies in Saanich on October 24, 2017 and other Criminal Code offences that occurred in Courtenay today.

 

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

On October 24, 2017, just after 1:30 PM Saanich Police responded to a possible fight in the area of Quadra St/McKenzie Ave.  While enroute Police were informed that a weapon may have been involved in the altercation. 

Once Police were on scene they learned that a London Drugs Loss Prevention Officer had stopped a man outside of the Saanich Centre for shoplifting.  The suspect then brandished a black handgun and fled from him.  The suspect left southbound on the Lochside Regional Trail where he then robbed a person of their black Miele electric bike.

Saanich Police have obtained video surveillance footage of the suspect and have identified him as 37 year old Michael Godolphin.  Godolphin is a white man, 5’7” tall, 175 pounds, has a shaved head and has a tear drop tattoo near his right eye and a written tattoo that encircles the back sides of his neck.  He was last seen wearing black Adidas straight leg pants with three white vertical stripes down the side, a black T-shirt, and a black hooded jacket with white writing on the chest.

Michael Godolphin is currently arrestable for robbery with a firearm and has warrants for his arrest for other criminal code offences. 

Michael Godolphin is considered to be armed and dangerous.  If you see him do not approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
