On July 7th, 2018 at around 3:00PM Saanich Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the Beckwith Park neighbourhood where a two year old girl had been struck by a vehicle.
It was learned, through the investigation, that a father had been leaving his home when his minivan struck the toddler. The family, police and BC Ambulance Service attempted life saving measures and the child was transported to the hospital. The child has since succumbed to her injuries.
“This is a horrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with the family” said Sgt. Jereme Leslie.
The Saanich Police and the BC Coroners Service are currently investigating the matter. As the investigation is in its early stages there are no other details available at this time.
