Victim of Assault Succumbs to Injuries

On September 29, 2018, the Saanich Police responded to the 3900 block of Carey Road for a report of a 41 year old victim of an assault who sustained life threatening injuries. Officers cordoned off areas near a residence on Carey Road in Saanich and a residence on Granderson Road in Langford. Investigators have completed their examination of these areas and are no longer present.On September 29, 2018, the Saanich Police responded to the 3900 block of Carey Road for a report of a 41 year old victim of an assault who sustained life threatening injuries. Investigators have completed their examination of these areas and are no longer present.On October 3, 2018 the male victim succumbed to his injuries. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) continues with the investigation which has now been deemed a homicide.Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and those believed to be involved were known to one another. At this time no charges have been laid.
