On June 9, 2020 Saanich Police, with the assistance of the Greater Victoria Response Team, arrested one person prior to the execution of a search warrant at a home in the 3800 block of Cadboro Bay Road.
A man was taken into custody without incident and was later released by police on recommended charges for being in the unlawful possession of a firearm, unsafe storage and other firearm-related offences. He will appear in court later this year. A firearm, ammunition and body armour were seized.
“Investigators learned that this man had a firearm, formed grounds to believe that there were safety concerns to either himself or others, and applied for a warrant to search for and seize that firearm.”
