On Saturday, September 12, 2020 the Saanich Police Department issued a media release requesting assistance from the public to locate a family believed to be travelling in British Columbia or Alberta. They were supposed to have returned to Victoria, BC on September 4, 2020.
The members of the family are Bradley Cook and Melissa Trost and their two young children, who ordinarily reside in Saanich, BC.
Over the weekend, Mr. Cook is believed to have contacted several media agencies explaining that he and his family were not missing. The Saanich Police did not report that the family was missing but instead were looking for information on their whereabouts, which were unknown, to ensure the safety of the children.
The focus of this matter continues to be on the safety and well-being of the children, whom we believe are in the care of Bradley Cook and Melissa Trost. As a result of the media release, we have received several tips from the public to assist in this investigation and continue to seek additional information.
