Saanich Police Service Dog Locates Robbery Suspects 20-25524

Two men were located and arrested by a Saanich Police Canine and his handler shortly after robbing a convenience store on Burnside Road West at Harriet Road early Thursday morning.

On November 6, 2020 at 12: 30 a.m. police were called to a convenience store on Burnside Road West for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Two suspects entered the store wearing medical masks, produced a knife and demanded money. They left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody inside the store was physically injured.

Saanich Police officers attended the scene along with Police Service Dog (PSD) Grimm and his handler. PSD Grimm tracked down and located both suspects in a park one block from the scene of the crime. The suspects were arrested and remain in police custody.

Two men, ages 30 and 52, are facing charges of Robbery and other offences under the Criminal Code.
