An organizer of a house party in Saanich was issued a fine Saturday night in contravention of the Emergency Program Act.
On Saturday February 6, 2021 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saanich Police officers responded to reports of a party at a home in the Gordon Head area. When they arrived, they witnessed 10-15 people gathering on a deck of the home. The party-goers saw police and began to run out the back door. The host was spoken to by officers but denied any party had taken place as there was nobody there. The host was issued a violation ticket under the Emergency Programs Act for Organizing or Hosting a Non-Compliant Event, S. 4(1) $2,300.
