Passenger in Vehicle Victim of Assault

At about 11pm on Friday, December 10th, a male passenger in a vehicle was assaulted on Douglas st near the Red Lion Inn.

Reports of an assault in progress were received by the Saanich Police Communications Centre just after 11pm.  Upon arriving, Patrol officers found one male who had sustained a facial injury and was bleeding profusely.

Suspect description:

  • Caucasian male
  • Twenties
  • Six feet tall, heavy build
  • Dark, wavy hair

The victim and his wife, had been driving north bound in their vehicle when their way was obstructed by a group who was crossing the road from the Red Lion Inn. They honked to get them to move off the roadway.

The male suspect became agitated and began banging on the hood of the vehicle. He then approached the victim in the passenger seat and began throwing punches. One of them struck the victim in the nose, possibly breaking his nose.
