Saturday night, at about 8:20, a patrol officer stopped a gray 1992 Acura on Harriet road.
The driver failed to provide a driver license but stated he had a California driver’s license. This led to the officer conducting queries on the police databases.
He quickly determined that the driver, a 40 year old View Royal resident, had a warrant issued by the Westshore RCMP. The warrant, you guessed it- for prohibited driving!
The driver was arrested and returned to Saanich Police HQ where he was processed and released. He now faces a further charge of driving while prohibited under S. 232 of the Motor Vehicle Act and a court date for the warrant.
The vehicle was towed and impounded.
