Man Who Made Inquiry Arrested On Warrant

A 36 year old Victoria man had a regrettable surprise when he showed up with his dog at the Saanich Police station on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The man seemed nervous and was asking a lot of questions about how he could apply to have a criminal records check done on himself.

The front desk officer was suspicious and did a quick computer check on the man’s name. He learned that the man was wanted by Victoria Police for Assault Causing Bodily Harm, related to a downtown incident from mid-August last year.

The warrant for the man’s  arrest had been in effect for about six weeks.

Police arrested the male and made arrangements for someone to come over and pick up his dog.

The male was then dropped off with Victoria Police, who in turn were going to deliver him down to Victoria Provincial Court to speak with the judge.
