Bank Robbery Under Investigation

At approximately 1030 hours, a lone male, disguised with a mask, entered the TD Bank located in the 4000 block of Quadra Street, and committed a robbery.

The unidentified male produced a handgun during the incident.  Nobody was injured and the male fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male fled the bank on foot and was last observed running northbound on Quadra Street through yards and over fences.

It should be noted that a die pack was carried by the suspect as he exited the bank.  The die pack exploded as the male crossed the parking lot which would have resulted in any exposed skin, as well as the clothing worn by the suspect, to be covered in an orange/red die.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 35 – 40 years of age, between 5′ 9″ and 5′ 11″ in height, and slightly larger than average build.  The suspect was wearing a red toque, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and running shoes at the time of the incident.

Saanich Police Detectives will be conducting the follow up investigation.

Anyone with information relating to this crime is asked to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

If any members of the public sees anyone with orange or red die on their hands, lower arms, or face, they are asked to contact the Saanich Police immediately so that the individual can be identified.
