Posted 2015-12-03

Saanich Police are warning the public of a brazen daytime indecent act that took place this morning, just after 8 a.m..

A teen aged female student was sitting at a BC Transit bus stop in the 400 block of Boleskine Road when an unidentified adult male walked into the bus stop. After a short period of time, the male suspect began asking questions of a vulgar and sexual nature to the student.

“When the female student did not respond, the male pulled down his pants, exposed his penis, and began to masturbate” Sgt. Steve Eassie said. “This was shocking for the female victim who did not expect this kind of interaction”.

The female left the bus shelter to seek help and the male departed the area on foot towards Whittier Avenue.

The incident was not reported to police for almost an hour, after the female student arrived at her school.

The suspect male was described as Caucasian, 35 to 45 years old , approx. 5’8 clean shaven, wearing a dark blue zip up hooded sweatshirt, black undershirt, black jogging pants, and had no accent and clear speech.

Females using public forms of transit are being asked to be vigilant and be aware of their surroundings. If possible, travel in groups of two or more. If alone, carry a cell phone if possible. In the event of a similar circumstance, please contact police immediately.

Anyone that may have information relating to this incident, or who may have information concerning the identity of the suspect, are asked to contact the Saanich Police Department at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
