Sexual Assault and Robbery Investigation – Update on April 7 Release

Saanich Police detectives are investigating an extremely disturbing sexual assault and robbery that occurred last evening.

On January 27th at 1954 hours the Saanich Police were contacted by staff at coffee shop located in the 3600 block of Shelbourne street when two distressed young females arrived.

Saanich Police patrol officers arrived on scene to find two victims in their 20’s. Officers quickly determined that a sexual assault had occurred in the 1500 block of Church Avenue.

The suspect arrived at the door to the ground floor apartment and banged loudly. The door was only opened when the victims felt the glass may break. Once inside, a sexual assault occurred.

The victims were both then escorted by the suspect from the residence to a nearby bank where money was demanded. Both victims withdrew cash under duress and gave it to the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot westbound across Shelbourne St.

Currently the Saanich Police are canvassing the neighborhood and connecting with schools and colleges in the area.

Description:
– caucasion male, 30-40yrs of age, approximately 5’11” (180cm), medium build, unshaven and balding.
– gray hooded sweat shirt and gray or dark pants.
