Keep Calm and Don’t Rage in a Parking Lot!

On January 26, 2017 just after 6:00PM Saanich Police monitored a 9-1-1 call from a man who had accidentally cut himself.

A 37 year old Esquimalt man, who had been at Pearkes Arena, had returned to his vehicle and located another vehicle parked extremely close to his.  Possibly out of frustration the man retrieve a knife and punctured a tire of the “offending” vehicle.  Clearly the man was unfamiliar with the physics behind his actions, as not only did he puncture the tire, but he ended up stabbing himself too.

At this point the man realized he would need to attend the hospital due to his self-inflicted stab wound.  As he started to drive to the hospital he realized he was bleeding quite heavily and losing a lot of blood.  The man had to pull over and call for an ambulance to pick him up and take him the rest of the way.  Once at the hospital the man required immediate surgery as he had severed an artery in his leg.

As the man recuperates at the hospital Saanich Police are continuing their criminal investigation into the mischief portion of this incident.  If you witnessed this event please call the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
