The Saanich Police has a team of two Detective Sergeants and seven Detective Constables fully dedicated to investigate major crimes in the municipality. The crimes range from aggravated sexual assaults, robberies, home invasions, and homicides.
The investigators are specially trained, experienced police officers who are familiar with the most up to date investigative techniques, both in technology and human behaviour. Generally the detectives work on serious crimes referred to them by patrol officers, their own intelligence section and other agencies.
