Arrested twice in 7 hours

The male arrested for the incident where a Jaguar automobile entered a house on Carey road, was re-arrested just before 10am on February 02 2012.

Shortly before 10am this morning, a caller in the Broadmead area reported the male driver involved in the earlier crash, was seen entering a Dodge Caravan and leaving a residence. Despite the early hour, he was seen to be drinking a beer as he entered the vehicle.

Officers were deployed to intercept the vehicle as it entered the Pat Bay highway. A few minutes later, it was stopped by officers in the 3500 block of Blanshard street. The driver, a 51 year old local resident, was recognized as the male arrested for the crash earlier this morning at Carey and TIllicum.

The driver was arrested for the second time in about 7 hours, and officers embarked on another impaired driving investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver was not charged with impaired but faced the following:

• Violation tickets for no Driver License and Failing to Wear a Seatbelt

• Another 24 hour suspension

• A 7 day vehicle impound

He was also arrested for driving while prohibited as a result of the earlier incident.

The driver remains in cells where he will stay until he is sober.
