Saanich Employee Runs for Cancer!

Dubbed the ‘Billy Idol’ Malahat Challenge Run, a Saanich Police civilian employee, Kevin Nunn, plans to run from Duncan to Victoria.

In October 2009 Kevin’s dad passed away due to cancer in his lungs and bones, and he felt compelled to do something. Last year Kevin raised $2,545.31 for Cops for Cancer, by sporting a ‘Billy Idol’ look, this meant growing his hair and going blonde in support of Cops for Cancer.

He was so impressed and in awe of the support and generosity for the Tour De Rock in 2010 that he will to do it all over again….BUT this year will be even bigger and better with the ‘Billy Idol’ Malahat Challenge Run!

On September 3rd, Kevin will run the 60 kilometers from Duncan to Victoria ending at the Saanich Police Headquarters sometime in the afternoon.

“When I see young children who are suffering with cancer it breaks my heart. If I can give back in some small way and put a smile on those little faces so they can try and forget for a little while then it’s all worth it,” says Kevin Nunn.

If you would like to help Kevin reach his fundraising goal of $10 000.00, there are a few ways to donate:

• A donation can be dropped off at the Saanich Police Headquarters care of the Chief’s Office

• Your donation can be made directly online to Kevin’s Cops for Cancer Web Page
