Theft Of Totem Pole Leaves Owner Puzzled

Saanich File 2013-4951

Overnight between Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17, an unknown person entered the rear yard of a residence in the 2800 block of Admirals Road and stole a large Totem pole.

The owner of the Totem had advertised the item for sale on Used Victoria and noticed the Totem missing on Early Sunday morning.  The unknown suspect left a skateboard in place of the stolen Totem.

The Totem was described as being approximately 8 feet tall, and 3.5 feet in diameter, and made out of one solid piece of styrofoam.  The native carving on the Totem was a bear, with the predominant colour being grey.  It is estimated that the Totem weighed approximately 75 pounds.  (Please see attached photo)
