Acting on information from a member of the public, members of the Saanich Police were successful in locating and arresting a 30 year old male on a Canada Wide warrant earlier today.
Shortly after 7 a.m, a call from a concerned area resident was received by Saanich Police dispatch. The caller indicated that they had observed the photograph of a person on the Internet , wanted by the Windsor Police Service in Ontario on Canada Wide warrant. The caller believed that they had seen the same person in their neighbourhood and provided the last known location of the wanted person.
Officers attended to the residential neighbourhood in what is commonly referred to as the “Saanich panhandle”; a residential neighbourhood between Foul Bay Road and Richmond Road, and Lansdowne Road and Fort Street. Officers were successful in locating and identifying Brandon WHEELER.
WHEELER was held on the strength of the Canada Wide warrant and remanded in custody. The Windsor Police Service was notified of the arrest of WHEELER and will be making arrangements for WHEELER to be transported back to the Windsor area to face the alleged charges.
WHEELER faces two counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Sexual Interference, and two counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching.
