Indecent Act On Lochside Regional Trail

Saanich Police are notifiying users of the Lochside Regional Trail of an indecent act that took place on Wednesday, September 9.

At approximately 5 p.m., a 25 year old female and a 28 year old female were running together, southbound on the trail near the 5300 block of Cordova Bay road (near the Cordova Bay Golf Course and Matticks Farm Development). An unidentified male, running northbound, pulled his pants down and exposed his genitals to both witnesses.

The unidentified male continued northbound on the trail system towards Hunt Road.

The male was described as a Caucasian male, 35 to 40 years of age, approximately 6’1″ tall, heavy set build with a larger belly, and short brown hair. The suspect was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and dark shorts.

There was no conversation between the male and the two female victims, and the incident was reported quickly thanks to the use of a cellular phone. Unfortunately, the male was not located and identifed.

“This incident serves as a reminder to those that may use locations, such as the regional trails, to be aware of their surroundings and to consider their personal safety” Sgt. Steve Eassie said. “Travelling with at least one other person, and having a means of communication can significantly improve your safety”.

Anyone that may have information about the identity of the suspect in this incident are asked to contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
