On September 17, 2016 at around 4:30PM a woman was running in the area of Cadboro Bay Rd/Lauder Rd when a male riding a bicycle approached her from behind. As the male rode up to her he reached out and grabbed her buttocks and rode away. After this incident occurred the woman called Saanich Police.
Saanich Police arrived at the location and were able to locate the suspect a short distance away. The suspect was arrested and identified. The suspect is the same youth who was arrested on September 11, 2016 for a similar incident at the University of Victoria.
Police have recommended the Youth be charged with one count of Sexual Assault and one count of Breach of an Undertaking given by a Judge or Justice. Saanich Police are still investigating other similar events in this area and may forward charges, to Crown Counsel, if the charge approval standard is met. The youth was held in custody and will be appearing before the courts on September 19, 2016.
