Sexual Assault in Gordon Head

Saanich Police are investigating a serious incident which occurred in the 3900 block of Wolf Street in the Gordon Head area of Saanich.  At around 2AM on Sunday, March 17, 2019, an unknown man entered an unlocked townhouse and sexually assaulted a 22 year old woman from the mainland, who was staying with friends.  The suspect brandished a knife during the assault.

The suspect is not known to the victim, who describes him as being tall with short blonde hair.  He was athletic looking, with dark pants and a dark long sleeve shirt.  He may also have been wearing glasses.

Detectives and Forensic Identification officers were called in and are actively investigating this incident.  The victim was thankfully not physically injured and is being supported by Victim Services and friends.

Although police do not feel that the public is in danger, we want to remind everyone to properly secure their homes when they are away and prior to going to bed.

“This is a very serious and equally uncommon crime for our area, but we want to reassure you that our investigators are working around the clock to solve it” said Sgt. Julie Fast, Public Information Officer for the Saanich Police.
