Video Store Robbed in Royal Oak

Around 5pm yesterday afternoon an armed robbery was reported at the Xanavision Video store in Royal Oak Plaza.

The lone male suspect entered the store and pretended to shop for a few minutes. After selecting DVD he approached the counter and produced a large hunting style knife and demanded cash from the till.

The male then fled on foot from the area. Patrol officers and a Police Service Dog responded to the scene. A cordon was established and the dog was deployed. Unfortunately the suspect was nowhere to be found.

The suspect is described as:

– white male, 6’0”- 6’2” in height

– medium build, approximately 200lb

– darker skin or tan, stubble

– wearing a blue sweat-shirt and blue sweat pants

Saanich Police Detectives and Forensic Investigators responded to the scene to conduct a forensic examination and to conduct interviews.
